Bring all social networks and IM’s under a single roof using DIGSBY-Software review



Are your friends scattered across various social networking sites and  instant messengers?Finding it difficult to stay connected?If yes,then Digsyby can come to your rescue.

Step 1

Download and install

The IM application can be downloaded from the link www.digsby.com  .Follow the steps below download and install the application.

Step  2

Using DIGSBY

Once you are done with the installation,you can now add people from various accounts and start messaging instantly.Here is how to go about it.

  1. Run Digsby
    Enter your username and password in the respective fields
    Select the ‘Auto login’ checkbox to login automatically everytime Digsby starts.
    Once done,click ‘Sign In’
    To change your status message,click the dropdown list and select an appropriate option.
    Click the ‘Add accounts’ link to add an account
  2. You can also  configure Digsby to display the current song being played by WIndows Media Player as your status mesage by selecting the ‘Listening to’ option
  3. Click the ‘Add IM Account’ button brings down a dropdown list as show.
  4. Enter appropriate login details in the authentication window that appears.
  5. In the similar way,you can add an e-mail or social networking account by clicking the ‘Add e-mail account’ and ‘Add Social network’ buttons respectively.You will now be able to view your IM contacts on the main screen
  6. Simply double click a contact to send an instant message
  7. To send an e-mail to a contact,hover your mouse over the contact and click ‘E-mail’
  8. To view past chats with the user,click the dropdown arrow at the right hand corner of the screen and click ‘View Past CHats’
  9. To logg off from particular account,from the ‘Tools’ menu,select the account and click ‘Sign Off’
  10. To view files that were transfered previously,select the ‘File Transfer History’ option.
  11. To set notification options for a user,right click the user and select the ‘Alert user and select the ‘Alert Me when’ option
  12. You can configure where the notification pop up would appear by selecting an option from the ‘Enable pop up notification in the dropdown list.
  13. Under the events section,you can select appropriate check boxes as to when you would like to be alerted.
  14. To delete a contact from your account,select it and click the ‘Delete’ option from the ‘Digsby’ menu.
  15. In the similar way,you can rename a contact as and when required
  16. You can also create different groups and add new users from the ‘DIGSBY’ menu.
  17. You can also conduct a video conference by clicking the video icon on the window.
