I am very happy about a decision when i am writing this article..For few days i was on a research to fnd out the best internet connection for me as i am moving from m hometown(Ettumanoor in kottayam district,kerala) to banglore to join my company.I went to show rooms of some wireless services like Tataindicom,idea etc.But i was not satisfied with the speed they are offering.My eyes finally got stuck with the company connecting indians for the past decade- Bharat Sanjar Nigam Limited ,our BSNL.I am using their broadband service for the past 3 years,so i do have trust that they wont atleast cheat us with mere offers in advertisements like the other company s are doing.BSNL will definitely give what they offers,still i do accept the fact that their service is not that good.

Some of my friends told me about a wireless internet provided by BSNL,a plug to surf kind of stuff.I searched in internet,but i didnt get any official data provided by bsnl about this.But i do got the reviews of persons using it.I went to the BSNL office at kottayam and met the person in charge of this connection.I got the following details from him

• The name of the connection is BSNL EVDO
  There are two plans,Modem in rent,or to buy modem
  Initial cost for modem in rent is 2489 Rs(Nearly,it includes 1000Rs Security deposit also)
• Initial cost for modem in rent is 4700 Rs(Nearly,it includes 1000Rs Security deposit and cost of modem also)
• The bsnl EVDO provides 3.1MBPS under EVDO towers(available only in cities)
• But when not under EVDO tower,the modem provides WLL access from normal bsnl tower with a speed of 256kbps.
• Unlimited Bandwidth (Yeah true.no limit in download..They provide this now as this facility is not yet launched officially)

ANd the most surprising feature which i got is

They provided me South india roaming …I can use it in banglore too….For everyone who work or study in karnataka,kerala, or tamil nadu,this is the right choice for you..You can use it anywhere,at your home and at your work place or college…

And about the monthly rent

• • 550 + 100(Modem Rent -if its taken for rent) + 100(only of you need roaming plan)

I am using it now and at my home there is no evdo tower.But still i m getting pretty descent speed to browse..Download speed is nearly 15-17Kbps.

How to Apply?

There is a very simple procedure..A simple form you will have to fill..It contains just your address details etc.You should submit the copy of an an id proof(driving licence,passport etc).You can get the modem after paying the amount if there is stock..But your account will take one day to activate.Then only you can access net using it.

You will get a driver cd along with the modem pack..Just insert the cd and install the modem driver..They will provide you a user id and password.This data should be provided at the settings page in the modem software.Thats it.you are done
