Here is an abstract for an academic project title for computer science and engineering
This is a download accelerator with a difference. It is implemented in a client/server model rather than a standalone model. It caters to the download needs of multiple users working in a local network. Users in a network could place their download requests through a download client which will be managed by a download server. After the download is completed the downloaded files will be placed in a shared folder for public access. Every user could therefore before issuing a download request, browse through the shared folder for the file that they want to download. Caching downloaded files in a shared folder reduces redundant download of common contents.
Technologies: JFC, IO Streams, Sockets, Threads
