Save webpage as JPEGs using Firefix add on “Screen Grab”



Most users end up holding their head in frustration when the need to grab a screen shot arises,especially in case of web pages.The common method of taking the screen shot and processing it to remove the unwanted areas is a tedious task.This process gets even lengthier when some one needs to capture the entire webpage.Since most monitors does not support astronomical resolutions,it is not always possible to capture an entire page.

Firefox has a helpful add on that can minimize your problems b quite a simple measure.Its called “Screen Grab” . Follow these simple instructions below to download and install the application.

  • Visit the following link http://addons.mozilla.org/en-US-firefox/addon/1146
  • Click “Add to Firefox” for the changes to take effect
  • On restarting,you will notice the Screengrab logo on the status bar of the browser
  • Click Tools>Add-ons
  • Select like the capture method and also select the format in which you would like to save the web pages as.
  • Click ‘OK’ for the changes to take effect.Now that you have configured setings,it is time to see how the application works.
  • Open the webpage that you want to save as an image.
  • Click the Screengrab icon,present on the status bar of the page.
  • You will come across two options, and ‘Copy’ . While the former directly saves the webpages as an image,the latter just copies it onto your clipboard
  • Under each of these,you have three different options.

Complete Page/Frame – Saves the entire page irrespective of the dimensions and page size

Visible portion – Saves only the portion of the site that can be seen on your browser
Selection- Requires you to select the boundary of the region that has to be saved.
