Tata Motors Ltd,India’s largest vehicle manufacturers unveils their new Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles, the marquee brands it bought from Ford Motors (F.N) last year in India.”It’s quite a memorable day in the history and heritage of Tata Motors” Ratan Tata said .Tata Motors, which controls about 60 percent of the world’s fifth-biggest truck and bus market, will soon also be rolling out the Nano, marked as the world’s cheapest car.Jaguar is launching the XF amd XK range of luxury coupes and convertibles in India.Its been more than a year since Tata Motors acquired the quintessential British Brands Jaguar and Land Rover from Ford Motor Company. Tata made sure that the acquisition process went smoothly and there was no hindrance to the working of both companies, which have their manufacturing facilities in the UK. Now Tata has brought the brands to India.
From the Jaguar series, Indian roads will get the XF and the XKR models. The models will be priced at Rs 63 lakh and 92 Lakh respectively.The new cars will competes with BMW, Audi, and Mercedes-Benz. The new XJ model that Jaguar has in the pipeline is set for a July 9th debut internationally, however Tata has confirmed that after the car’s international launch, it will be brought to India in due time.From the Land Rover series, the following models will be available,The Discovery, Range Rover Sport and Range Rover.The Discovery is priced at Rs 63 lakh and the top end Range Rover is priced at Rs 89 Lakh. India will also get the special edition Range Rover which will cost upwards of Rs 1 Crore.

At present, both brands will be sold from an exclusive showroom in Mumbai, however Tata has plans to expand the dealership network to other metro cities.Tata Motors had acquired Jaguar and Land Rover in an all cash deal for US $2.3 billion. Both brands have had a past in India, however in recent times their popularity dwindled. This is a second innings of sorts, and now backed by Tata, it will be interesting to see how the first luxury brands owned by an Indian manufacturer shape up in the market.
