Volvo is all set to unveil a new luxurious sedan car on indian roads in 2010.It will be a tough time for volvo in this segment as the major competitors are Audi,BMW etc.But volvo has proved its strength in Buses and Truck segment in india.The new model is named as Volvo S80 D5.VOlvo s main strength s are its safety features,comfort and reliability.These are all the features that an indian customer need.The Volvo S80 D5 is also not different.It has a fresh and elegant looks and all the features of a luxury sedan.The car is powered by a 5 cylinder diesel engine.It is equipped with Euro V-compliant powerplant makes 205bhp and 42.82kgm of torque from its 2.4 litres.Volvo S80 D5 also has twin turbos to optimise delivery and increase fuel economy.

The car gains Zero-100kph speed in 8.20 seconds and that’s only 0.57sec slower than the most powerful and more expensive E350 CDI

The only disadvantage of this car is its slow gear box doesnot reach as quickly as you need.As this is a volvo car,safety comes first.It is equipped with gills with safety equipment that includes ABS, eight airbags, emergency brake assist, Dynamic Stability and Traction Control, whiplash protection system, emergency brake-light flashing and even a built-in childseat in the centre armrest at the rear.

The price of Volvo S80 D5 is Rs 47.15 lakh (on-road Mumbai).
