The new version of wordpress is released(WP 2.8) . The new version is named as Chet Baker(A famous trumpeter and vocalist in the 1950s) . There is not much changes with the previous version.However the new version WordPress 2.8 fixed around 790 bugs and increased the overall speed and the looks of control panel.

These are some of the improvements in the new version  :

• Browse the entire theme directory and install theme with one click
• Codepress Editor – For people who likes to modify themes or plugins takes the advantage of this feature..This feature will provides syntax highlighting of the code.
• Widget Interface Redesigned  - The user can edit widget easily
• Fresh Control Panel

SO i guess its time to upgrade to WordPress 2.8
